The Best Ebike 2020

Wallke Full Suspension Folding Fat Ebike

Almost perfect but certainly the best in 2020. Hopefully they can improve it further. With Tesla joining the ebike race, the situation is exciting.

The rear motor makes it rear heavy. Steering is better and grip is more certain but most riders or commentors miss the whole point of ebike. Ebike should only assist, not power it on its own.

A front motor is also vital for the second most important aspect of ebike, the reliable braking just like ABS in cars. Just as in electric cars, the single pedal to control braking make electric cars safer and easier to drive. Certainly save money on the brake pads although arguable saving on battery consumption.

With careful control, coasting is more efficient because regen is never efficient, but a good controller should be able to coast when electrical power is not required to accelerate a car. Unfortunately, poor design gave the impression that brushless and gearless motors provide more friction than free wheeling geared motors.

The Walke marketing doesn't know how to market the regen features of the controller. They only promote the downhill charging. This downhill charging will disappoint many people because they only extend ranges by up to 10% maximum. Yes, useful, but not as critical as the saving in brake pads and reliable braking which is not even mentioned at all, despite it having a feature that allows it to stop by itself just by releasing a button.

The adjustable front fork absorber is vital unlike mine. The kickstand is also vital unlike my similar folding bicycle. This ebike utilises the hollow folding part as a battery container with a key which makes it aerodynamic.

What are missing are the hidden wires. Hydraulic brakes only increases cost with little benefit but hidden wires will make it more aerodynamic and allow more bags to fit nicely.

The Pro version has useful accessories like fenders and rear carriers. It still does not have frame bags but the large triangle bags fit my folding bicycle nicely. Despite the wires you can put a hybrid bag in front which has a shoulder strap, and rear hybrid bag at the rear that has a handle and can expand upwards and sideways. You can add water bottles at the front forks using adjustable mounts.
