HNJ Full-Face Helmet review

I tested the HNJ Full Face helmet.

It is comfortable and light at 940 g which lower than the specified 1,100g. The inside foam could be EPP instead of EPS because it is softer. My bicycle helmets tend to be hard polystyrene, EPS.

The foam layer is around 1 inch with ventillation holes. I opened all of them and the visor, except when the sun is right in front. Lowering the darkened visor helps a little to reduce the glare. Inside the helmet, it is not too hot.

I met two policemen who asked me why I wear full-face bicycle helmet instead of the normal bicycle helmet. I told them that this is safer because it is heavier. The bicycle helmets only weigh around 300 g. The SIRIM approved helmets are too heavy at 1.6 kg. The policemen commented that our necks can become painful.

However, if you ride motorcycles at speeds higher than 50 km/h, you should wear the full specs full-face helmets. For bicycles, it is also good to wear full-face helmets. Bicycle helmets also have full-face versions, but they cost as much as this HNJ ABS-PC helmets. These Mountain Bicycle full-face helmets are also not aerodynamic and have lots of large holes, compared to motorcycle helmets, so could easily allow sharp objects to pierce the helmets.
