DaVinci Resolve 17 - How to Freeze Frame | Fast Tutorial (2021)

Image
One problem with recording video for cycling using the gimbal is the frequent disorientation of the gimbal which resulted in unuseable video. If we just remove this video clip, it will affect the synchronisation with the gps data. The best way to way that I can think of is to just freeze the frame to the next useable frame while the bicycle is still stationary.

Tyre liner causing a slow puncture

Image
https://bicycles.stackexchange.com/questions/45705/tyre-liner-causing-a-slow-puncture-am-i-doing-something-stupid Tyre liner causing a slow puncture -- am I doing something stupid On a beater bike I've got (25 year old Raleigh MTB) I run tyre liners because I had spare tyres and was too cheap to buy good anti-puncture ones. They do their job quite well -- I've just picked broken glass out that had gone through the tread but stopped at the liner. But the reason I found the broken glass was that I had a flat. I knew the tyre was a bit soft but over the weekend it went right down. On inspection I saw this on the outside of the tube: That curve matches the end of the liner, and with enough air in the tube I could feel it leaking. The liner doesn't feel like it has a rough edge (we'll find out because I left the liner in with a new tube), and it's been running

DaVinci Resolve 17 for Beginners

Excellent tutorial. It even has markers to selections of topics. I used the indexes to refresh how to add text to my videos.  The colour tip is excellent because I can just boost the shadows to the maximum setting of 100 because my Gopro Hero 4 Black captures dark images at night.  https://youtu.be/UguJiz9AYM8

HOW TO EXPORT VIDEO IN RESOLVE 17 - DaVinci Resolve Rendering Tips

Stabilize FPV freestyle video the easy way with Davinci

Davinci Resolve 17

https://www.4kshooters.net/2021/01/05/premiere-pro-vs-davinci-resolve-which-one-is-right-for-you/ I shall start using Davinci Resolve 17 because it is free and of sufficient quality especially for stabilization. It is also fast. I used the Educational LIcense under UMS to use the Adobe Premiere Pro 2021. After using it once, I notice that DaVinci is fast and has less options to play with. It should therefore be easier to use. The quality of stabilization is not much different because I cannot use the very best of Premiere because it will take too long and it kept on crashinng.

Petagas Putatan 24 Oct 2021

Image
Uses the shortest route without crossing the major Putatan road. It is bumpy probably because tyre pressure is at a maximum of 65 psi. Rolling resistance is lowest at the highest prssure but it creates a very bumpy ride. The high speed also contributes to the bumpiness of the video. We should slow down when filming a cycling video.

Gopro, even Hero4 is still better than a mobile phone. I noticed that after processing with Adobe Premiere Pro in 4K, the output in 1080p is of the same size. The processing time is also short because I used Fast Analysis that I find good enough. In order to fit into the manually adjusted Crop effect at 10% to the right, 15% to the bottom, I need to reduce the smoothing % from 100 to even 35 but I do not notice much difference in the removal of shakes. I made a major error in taking the video. I should have pointed more to the sky instead of downwards. It is partly due to the way I mounted the Hohem gimbal. It kept on pointing downwards because I cannot tie the gimbal to restrain it more from pointing downwards. The reason the Gopro can reduce more shake is because of the wide angle. Another method is to take far distances only because at far distances, the vibrations should be less obvious. The effect is that there is less cropping when smoothed using Premiere Pro, or any electronic s

Not very clear and shaky but still useable. Xiamo Redmi Note 8 Pro is not suitable for recording cycling video even at 1080p and supported by a gimbal. It overheats after half an hour. This video is the firstt half hour before it overheats. Instead of throwin away the video, I decide to share a smoothed version that should still be useable. Its gps link is uploaded to Strava and used in RGT Cycling but the free version does not allow the Magic Road to be used.  Kinomap does not accept the quality of video but we can still upload it and use it for our personal use in the free accounnt. The processing of such shaky video is complicated. It took many days. The settings that I use for the video sectionns is shown below:  You cannot stabilise the video after analysing unless I split it into pieces of less than 5 minutes. The quality of smoothing is not affected. The reason was due to lack of memory. I have 32 Gbyte of RAM and set aside 200 Gbyte of virtual memory from my hard disk, but the

I have just realised that my trial subscription expired on the 1 Oct 2021 but I was still able to upload videos and gpx files for gps tracking, share these videos and train using these videos. However, I cannot train using other videos. The quality of my videos do not seem to be acceptable to be listed in the official list but the training data in the form of the resistance graph is still available. It is not that accurate when I noticed that from Anjung Senja to Sutera Harbour Resort, the gradient is interpreted as down hill all the way. There is a bridge which means a little climb but not captured by Kinomap, probably due to the gpx file. This can be solved by editing the gpx file which is just a text file.

How to Remove Wind Noise in Premiere Pro

Image
I used 1000 Hz to remove wind noise almost completely. Because a cycling video does not need a human voice, it does not affect the quality of sound so much. I was able to hear tyre and car noises which I want to keep. Better than muting the entire sound.

How to RENDER and EXPORT FASTER HD / 4K in Adobe Premiere Pro CC / Rende...

Image
I spent a lot of time figuring out how to complete processes in the small sections that had been completed. I had to reset the processing more than 3 times already. The solution could be to render it first. I tried to export a clip that had finished its effects processing. I ended up resetting the other clips. Rendering is just like exporting. It will review the files on the output screen while it is rendering but I notice that the processing of the effects are still being done, without disrupting them.
